My name is Katherine — author of Cerebral Palsy Blogger. I am in my 30s, single and currently living with my parents and service dog in the DFW area.
I love to travel (especially via Disney Cruise ships), cook, read and create art. I work part-time from home as a digital marketer for local businesses and non-profits.
My disability is cerebral palsy (hence the name of this blog). Cerebral palsy is caused by a brain injury. Some get it by an external injury after birth; others get it due to complications at birth. My disability was caused by a lack of oxygen to my brain before birth.
There are many ways cerebral palsy presents itself. In my case, I have spastic quadriplegia, which means I have spasticity in all four limbs. I also have a speech impediment (cp-related) and a hearing impediment (not cp-related). I can walk independently, but I use a walker and wheelchair.
Now that you know a little bit about me, I hope you continue to follow my journey as I navigate all the adventures life has to offer one spasm at a time.

Fun Fact: The picture used in the header of this page was taken at Walden Pond. Ralph Waldo Emerson purchased 11 acres of the woods surrounding the pond.
